Blackie Family
The site takes as its central point John Blackie of Kelso about whom
we know very little, except that he married Ann Brown in Eccles Parish
and that his son moved down to Bungay in Suffolk, with his wife Martha
Dryden from Berwick on Tweed. They had seven children, but were both
dead before our greatgrandfather James Morell Blackie was one year
old, and he spent his childhood in an orphanage in London. His wife
Priscilla Hordern was of Quaker stock, and they had (I think) nine
children, of whom Ernest our grandfather was the eldest.
Latest update includes many more Stewarts, and includes line to James
1st of Scotland.
